YELAN TALENTS / SKILLS
Normal Attack: Perform up to 4 consecutive shots with a bow.
Charged Attack: Perform a more precise Aimed Shot with increased DMG.
While aiming, flowing water will accumulate on the arrowhead. A fully charged torrential arrow will deal Hydro DMG.
Breakthrough
Yelan will enter a “Breakthrough” state after spending 5s out of combat, which will cause her next Charged Aimed Shot to have 80% decreased charge time, and once charged, she can fire a “Breakthrough Barb” that will deal AoE Hydro DMG based on Yelan’s Max HP.
Plunging Attack: Fires off a shower of arrows in mid-air before falling and striking the ground, dealing AoE DMG upon impact.
Lingering Lifeline (Elemental Skill): Fires off a Lifeline that allows her to move rapidly, entangling and marking opponents along its path.
When this rapid movement ends, the Lifeline will explode, dealing Hydro DMG to the marked opponents based on Yelan’s Max HP.
Tap
Moves a certain distance forward swiftly.
Hold
Engages in continuous, swift movement, during which Yelan’s resistance to interruption is increased.
During this time, Yelan can control this rapid movement and end it by using this Skill again.
Additionally, each opponent marked by the Lifeline when it explodes grants Yelan a 34% chance to reset her Breakthrough state.

Depth-Clarion Dice (Elemental Burst): Deals AoE Hydro DMG and creates an “Exquisite Throw,” which aids her in battle.
Exquisite Throw
Follows the character around and will initiate a coordinated attack under the following circumstances, dealing Hydro DMG based on Yelan’s Max HP:
- Can occur once every second when your active character uses a Normal Attack.
- Will occur each time Yelan’s Lifeline explodes and hits opponents.

YELAN PASSIVE
Turn Control: When the party has 1/2/3/4 Elemental Types, Yelan’s Max HP is increased by 6%/12%/18%/30%.

Adapt With Ease: So long as an Exquisite Throw is in play, your own active character deals 1% more DMG. This increases by a further 3.5% DMG every second. The maximum increase to DMG dealt is 50%.
The pre-existing effect will be dispelled if Depth-Clarion Dice is recast during its duration.
Unlocked at Ascension 4
Necessary Calculation: Gains 25% more rewards when dispatched on a Liyue Expedition for 20 hours.

YELAN BUILDS / STRATEGY

SUPPORT: Yelan should be built as a support/sub dps if you want the most out of her. You want as much HP, CR, CD, ER, and of course Hydro Damage. She doesn’t need ATK since her damage scales off her HP. If you pair her with Xinqiu you won’t need as much ER on her as they can battery each other. However, if you want her by herself she’ll need around 200%+ ER to maintain her burst uptime.
These are also general recommendations, you will need to alter your artifacts and stat builds based on what content you want to use this character for and what team you are using him/her with, however, these are consider among the best bows for Yelan. A general rule for DPS units are CR is roughly 50% of your CD.
YELAN CONSTELLATIONS
Enter the Plotters (Lvl 1): Lingering Lifeline gains 1 additional charge.
Taking All Comers (Lvl 2): When Exquisite Throw conducts a coordinated attack, it will fire an additional water arrow that will deal 14% of Yelan’s Max HP as Hydro DMG. This effect can trigger once every 1.8s.
Beware the Trickster’s Dice (Lvl 3): Increases the Level of Depth-Clarion Dice by 3.
Maximum upgrade level is 15.
Bait-and-Switch (Lvl 4): Increases all party members’ Max HP by 10% for 25s for every opponent marked by Lifeline when the Lifeline explodes. A maximum increase of 40% Max HP can be attained in this manner.
Dealer’s Sleight (Lvl 5): Increases the Level of Lingering Lifeline by 3.
Maximum upgrade level is 15.
Winner Takes All (Lvl 6): After using Depth-Clarion Dice, Yelan will enter the Mastermind state.
In this state, all of Yelan’s Normal Attacks will be special Breakthrough Barbs. These Breakthrough Barbs will have similar abilities to normal ones and the DMG dealt will be considered Charged Attack DMG, dealing 156% of a normal Breakthrough Barb’s DMG.
The Mastermind state lasts 20s and will be cleared after Yelan fires 5 arrows.
STRENGTHS / WEAKNESSES
STRENGTHS:
- Yelan is one of the best DPS Burst Supports in Genshin Impact!
- She’s a great battery due to her second skill giving a lot of energy and damage, especially with the Favonius Warbow.
- Her burst deals constant damage which drastically increases your dps output in many parts of the game.
WEAKNESSES
- She is weak against Hydro Shield since they are immune to hydro damage.
- She doesn’t pair well with bow users if most of the damage comes from bow charges.
- She requires more on stage time than Xinqiu as a hydro applicator.
RANKING
Combat Rating (9/10): Yelan is very easy to use. You main run into enemies with her E and use her burst when its ready to add a bunch of damage for your main DPS.
Exploration (10/10): She is amazing for exploration since her E allows you to sprint really fast. She’s also a bow user so there’s tons of annoying obstacles and puzzles she can easily solve.
Spiral Abyss (10/10): She is amazing with single target dps units since she can constantly apply wet status and deal damage with every normal attack.
Artifact Farming (9/10): Artifact farming varies based on the type and enemies you are facing. She’s great for most areas unless it’s a very hydro heavy domain.
Normal/Weekly Bosses (9/10): 1v1 bosses are her bread and butter. She constantly applies wet status and deals good damage. She’s a must have in making your boss fights quick and efficient.
