HU TAO TALENTS / SKILLS
Normal Attack: Perform up to six consecutive spear strikes.
Charged Attack: Consumes a certain amount of Stamina to lunge forward, dealing damage to opponents along the way.
Plunging Attack: Plunges from mid-air to strike the ground below, damaging opponents along the path and dealing AoE DMG upon impact.
GUIDE TO AFTERLIFE (Elemental Skill): Only an unwavering flame can cleanse the impurities of this world. Hu Tao consumes a set portion of her HP to knock the surrounding enemies back and enter the Paramita Papilio state.
Paramita Papilio State
Increases Hu Tao’s ATK based on her Max HP at the time of entering this state. ATK Bonus gained this way cannot exceed 400% of Hu Tao’s Base ATK.
Convertes attack DMG to Pyro DMG, which cannot be overridden by any other elemental infusion.
Charged attacks applu the blood blossom effect to enemies hit.
- Increases Hu Tao’s resistance to interruption.
Blood Blossom Effect
Enemies affected by Blood Blossom will take Pyro DMG every 4s. This DMG is considered Elemental Skill DMG.
Each enemy can be affected by only one Blood Blossom effect at a time, and its duration may only be refreshed by Hu Tao herself.
Paramita Papilio ends when its duration is over or Hu Tao has left the battlefield or fallen.

SPIRIT SOOTHER (Elemental Burst): Commands a blazing spirit, dealing Pyro DMG in a large AoE. Upon striking the enemy, regenerates a percentage of Hu Tao’s Max HP. This effect can be triggered up to 5 times based on the number of enemies hit.
If Hu Tao’s HP is below or equal to 50% when the enemy is hit, both the DMG and HP Regeneration are increased.

Flutter By: When a Paramita Papilio state activated by Guide to Afterlife ends, all allies in the party (excluding Hu Tao herself) will have their CRIT Rate increased by 12% for 8s.
Unlocked at Ascension 1
Sanguine Rouge: When Hu Tao’s HP is equal to or less than 50%, her Pyro DMG Bonus is increased by 33%.
Unlocked at Ascension 4
The More the Merrier: When Hu Tao cooks a dish perfectly, she has a 18% chance to receive an additional “Suspicious” dish of the same type.

MAIN DPS: Hu Tao needs a lot of stats be to a good main. She needs CR, CD, HP, Pyro DMG along with EM. She is different since her damage scales of her HP. Energy Recharge is also good to add on her, but don’t do so at the cost of more damage output.
These are also general recommendations, you will need to alter your artifacts and stat builds based on what content you want to use this character for and what team you are using him/her with, however, these are consider among the best polearms for Hu Tao. A general rule for DPS units are CR is roughly 50% of your CD.
HU TAO CONSTELLATIONS
Crimson Bouquet (Lvl 1): While in a Paramita Papilio state, activated by Guide to Afterlife, Hu Tao’s Charge Attack do not consume Stamina.
Ominous Rainfall (Lvl 2): Increases the Blood Blossom DMG by an amount equal to 10% of Hu Tao’s Max HP at the time the effect is applied. Additionally, Spirit Soother will also apply the Blood Blossom effect.
Lingering Carmine (Lvl 3): Increases the Level of Guide to Afterlife by 3
Garden of Eternal Rest (Lvl 4): Upon defeating an enemy affected by a Blood Blossom that Hu Tao applied herself, all inearby allies in the party (excluding Hu Tao herself) will have their CRIT Rate increased by 12% for 15s.
Floral Incense (Lvl 5): Increases the Level of Spirit Soother by 3. Maximum upgrade level is 15.
Butterfly’s Embrace (Lvl 6): Triggers when Hu Tao’s HP drops below 25%, or when she suffers a lethal strike: Hu Tao will not fall as a result of the DMG sustained. Additionally, for the next 10s, all of her Elemental and Physical RES is increased by 200%, her CRIT Rate is increased by 100%, and her resistance to interruption is greatly increased. This effect triggers automatically when Hu Tao has 1 HP left. Can only occur once every 60s.
STRENGTHS / WEAKNESSES
STRENGTHS:
- Hu Tao is a raw powerhouse DPS in Genshin Impact!
- She is one of the Best 1v1 characters making her amazing against Bosses.
- Her 3rd skill is relatively easy to build for huge nuke damage.
WEAKNESSES
- Her biggest damange comes at low health so you need to be constantly monitoring it.
- She is heavily reliant on a Shield Characters for survivability.
- She requires practice since you need to learn animation cancel out of charge to achieve maximum DPS.
- She really needs her C1 otherwise stamina management starts to become a problem.
- She is weak against Pyro Shields since they are immune to pyro damage.
RANKING
Combat Rating (5/10): Hu Tao is great for damage, however, her combat is tricky and needs a lot of monitoring to achieve maximum results. She also needs practice with her animation cancel to be super effective. She has a lot of caveots, but is worth it once you mastered them.
Exploration (3/10): She really doesn’t offer anything except big damage in terms of exploration. She does, however, have a suspicious cooking bonus.
Spiral Abyss (10/10): She is a very strong damage dealer here. Her raw DPS is excellent for speed clears and makes her top notch in this content.
Artifact Farming (9/10): She is the best monster to farm Vindagnyr Domain Level 90 since she can nuke down the boss before it can put its shield back up.
Normal/Weekly Bosses (10/10): This is where she truly shines. Nobody can outclass Hu Tao when it comes to 1v1. She has the potential to nuke down bosses with just her elemental burst alone. The only bosses she struggles with are flying ones like Dvalin.
